I awoke by the rays of the sun that peeked in through my window. I groaned and put the pillow over my head, trying to hide from the morning. I was having such a nice dream about Itachi. Wait, Itachi!!! I quickly sat up in my bed and looked around in my room. He wasn't there. I got up and went to my closet in hope that he would be there. I opened it, but the only I could see in there were my clothes, extra blankets and sheets. Disappointed, I sighed and closed it and went to eat breakfast.

In the kitchen I hoped to at least find another note from Itachi, but nothing except from my ninja schedule on the fridge. I took (insert your breakfast) and sat down by the table and ate it. I felt much better and was sure that I could go back to my training again.

All of sudden my front door burst open and Naruto flew in and made a face plant on the floor. After him came Sakura with an angry look at her face. I looked shocked at them.

“Have I missed something?” I asked confused.

“Yeah, Naruto was fooling around again.” Sakura sighed.

“I was just asking if you wanted to go out with me.” Naruto said with a swollen face after Sakura's punch.

“And you wouldn't stop nagging on me!” She said and looked furious at him.

I felt like I had to do something before something more painful would happen to Naruto.

“So...um...did you want me something?” I asked a little bit nervous.

“Oh, yeah, do you think you are healthy enough to train today? Sakura asked, forgetting about her anger and smiled.

“Yeah, I think so...”

“Great!” Naruto said enthusiastic and got up. “Let's go, _____!”

I ate up the rest of my breakfast and got my ninja tools ready and then we were off to the training grounds.

We started with a battle against each other. I used all my skills and techniques I've learned from my family and senseis. While I fought Naruto, I thought about Itachi, how he cared for me, how he smiled warmly at me and how much he loved me. I was so into my thoughts that I failed to do a substitution jutsu and got hit by Naruto.

“Hey, are you all right _____?!” He asked kind of worried.

“Yes...don't worry about it.” I said and told myself in my thoughts that I would pay attention. “ Let's continue.”

All day we helped each other to train and when we decided that it was enough, it was already dark. I was very exhausted and laid myself down in the grass, glancing up at the stars.

“Well, that's it for today, I guess.” Sakura said and packed her empty lunch box in her bag.

“Yeah...but, what do you two say if we eat at Ichiraku Ramen this evening?” Naruto asked with pleading eyes.

“Not tonight...” I said and put my hands behind my head. “I ate ramen yesterday, so I'm fine.”

“All right, if you say so, but what about you, Sakura?”

“Sure, but then you'll pay for my meal.” She said teasingly and started to walk toward the village.

“H-hey, that's not what I meant!” Naruto said shocked and hurried after her.

I laughed a little and looked at the stars again and waited. The moon was shining and the wind was passing slowly by the trees, making the leaves rustle slightly and soothing. I suddenly heard footsteps coming closer and sat up and saw a shadow approaching me. To my relief I recognized the shape of the shadow.

“Itachi!” I said happily and smiled.

As he got closer I noticed that he seemed to have some difficulties to walk.

“A-are you ok?” I said more worried.

“_-_____.....” He said shakily and fell to the ground.

“Itachi!!!” I got up quickly and ran over to him, falling on my knees by his side. “What's wrong?! Please, answer me!”

I saw to my fear that he was badly wounded, but how did that happen?

“Bl....blood...” Itachi said weakly. “I need...blood...”

I knew that if he didn't drink any blood, he could die and I couldn't just let that happen. Itachi was the only one that really loved me. I couldn't bring him to the hospital, he was an Akatsuki member after all. I had no choice, I just had to give him my blood.

“Ok...” I said and laid down beside him with my back toward him and moved my hair away from my neck.

I felt Itachi wrap his arm around my waist, taking my hand and held it softly. With his other arm he let me rest my head on it, like a pillow. It was very comfortable, feeling him so close. He kissed my cheek before he leaned toward my neck.

“Thank you...” I heard him whisper and then he bit me.

This time I was more aware than the last time he drank my blood. It felt like two thick needles pierced through my skin and I flinched by the sudden pain at first, but soon relaxed as I felt Itachi's lips touch my neck. It was just like a loving kiss that was tender and careful at the same time. I closed my eyes and sighed by the feeling of his closeness that promised safety.

After a couple of minutes Itachi pulled out his fangs and licked the bite marks to heal them like the last time. He stroked the back of my hand with his thumb and remained silent.

“Wh-what happened...?” I asked, fighting to remain conscious.

“I got attacked...” Itachi said and sounded like he felt much better now. “...by some anbu ninjas from the hidden mist...but I managed to kill them and survive.”

I had only heard rumors about the people in the hidden mist, that they were skilled assassins that could kill without even blink. I shivered, both of the thought about them and for the little blood loss.

“But you are going to be ok, right?” I asked and rolled over so I was lying on my back.

“Yes, thanks to you, my love.” Itachi replied.

“I'm glad to hear that.” I said and blushed slightly.

We were lying there in the grass, looking up at the moon and the stars, close to each other. I could lie here with him forever, even though I knew that the sun would rise in a few hours. It was a shame that we could only meet when the sun set and that I needed sleep for the night. Each time I blinked it seemed to get more difficult to open my eyes again. Itachi noticed that it got harder for me to stay awake. He smiled warmly and hugged me tightly in his arms, trying to keep me safe from the cold with his coat sleeves.

“You should go to sleep now.” He whispered softly. “Don't worry, I'll watch over you while you're sleeping.”

“Thank you, Itachi.” I whispered back and made myself comfortable in his arms and soon I was soundly asleep.

“Good night, _____.”
