Vampire!Itachi x Reader Chapter 7

Chapter 7



I heard the explosion and felt myself being thrown away in with an unnatural speed, well...at least  it felt like it. I just knew it was the end for me, but surprisingly, it didn't hurt being blasted and thrown away. I started to feel cold and weak. I guessed that I just had to accept my fate and just let go. I would miss my family and all my friends, but most of all...Itachi. I imagined myself being held in his arms, close to his chest. Strangely, it felt almost real. I even could have sworn that I could hear his calm voice calling for my name.

“____, open your eyes...please.” I could faintly hear.

I strained to open my eyes. Would I see a white light greeting me for heaven? Instead, I saw a pair of red eyes that seemed to glow in the dark. I could have recognized those eyes anywhere.

“Itachi...” I tried to say, but it only came out as a whisper. Was I still alive? ”What happened...?”

“Don't worry...”he said calmly. “Deidara's gone now, but...”

He paused and looked at me, almost sadly. I wondered why. I gave him a questioning look and he looked down at my leg. I remembered now. My leg had been blasted earlier. I forced myself to look down at it and saw to my horror that my leg was even worse than before. It had been infected and it was still bleeding. This was the kind of wound that couldn't be cured in time. If I would carry this wound any longer, the infection would reach to my heart system and kill me, not to mention that I would die of blood loss. All of that would happen and probably will if I didn't get any medical help as soon as possible, but the closest hospital was a day far away.

I looked up at Itachi and he took my hand and held it gently with his.

“Itachi...am I...going to die?” I asked as I feared the worst.

He closed his eyes, as if he was trying to hide his emotions, which was showing that the answer was true. A couple of tears started to stream down my face. The thought about never seeing Itachi or my family made my heart ache with sorrow. Itachi brushed carefully away my tears with his thumbs and looked into my eyes.

“Do you want me to make you become like me?” he asked, whispering.

“A...vampire?”

He nodded. I thought for a moment. I really didn't want to die like this and I felt that I hadn't much time left. It became colder and I trembled weakly. If I choose to become a vampire, I could stay with Itachi forever and in all eternity, and maybe visit my family again.

“Yes...” I said and held on tighter to his hand.

“Very well...” he said and made me sit up with my back toward him. He brought up his own wrist and bit it, and then held in front of me. “You have to drink my blood as I drink from you.”

I hesitated at first, before I carefully placed my mouth over the bite marks and started to drink Itachi's blood. It tasted like a combination of iron and bitterness. Meanwhile, I felt Itachi move my hair out of the way from my neck and brushed his lips softly against my skin before he bit down too. This would be the very last time he ever drank of my human blood. As we drank from each other, I felt how I was getting tired and how my heart slowed down slowly, but surely. Itachi's embrace was the only thing that kept me somewhat warm. It started to get dark in my vision, but I wasn't afraid. It felt peaceful, like when you're falling asleep, but the real reason why I wasn't afraid was that I knew that Itachi was always with me to the end of my life. Soon I was even too tired to even drink anymore, so I let go of his wrist and let him take over for now. The last thing I saw before I died was the moon shining so brightly in the dark sky. It was so beautiful. Then I was gone.

It's been awhile now since I became a vampire. Sometimes I even come back to Konoha at night just to see how everybody's doing. They all think I'm dead after that encounter with Deidara. Well, I am, but not quite. I want to tell them that I'm fine now and that I'm happy with Itachi. He taught me so much about living as a creature of the night, like catching a victim and healing myself. I'm doing just fine. It took awhile to get use to the taste of human blood, but it is now the only thing I can feed on. I can't complain, though. It tastes really good after awhile.

I'm sitting on the fifth Hokage's building, looking down on the village. I can see Naruto at Ichiraku Ramen and eating with Sakura tonight. I laugh to myself as I'm thinking about all the fun we had when I was alive. Seeing them happy, makes me happy too. Suddenly I feel a hand on my shoulder.

“____, it's time to go.” Itachi said, smiling warmly at me.

“I know, I'm starved too.” I smiled back and kissed my eternal love.

He kissed me back lovingly, before we took off to search for some preys in the woods as two predators in love with each other. Forever in all eternity.
